Wera Bits

Wera Bits

For over 80 years, Wera has been producing drill bits that are made to last. Their bits are favored by professionals such as mechanics and woodworkers due to their high-quality materials and torsion zone technology. This refers to the design of the bit itself. ‘Torsion zones’ are spaces built into the rod of the bit. This allows the drill bit to be more flexible and actually move while in use. These torsion zones take pressure off the head of the drill bit, which helps the bit to last much longer. It can also help provide better traction and be more secure in the screw it is working with.

  • Screw Extractor Sets- Help to safely remove broken or damaged screws.

  • Individually Sold Bits:

    • Phillips head bit- The classic cross-shaped head, everyone needs a Phillips head in their toolbox.

    • Slotted screwdriver bit - Also knowns as a flathead screwdriver or bit, these are used with flathead or slotted screws.

    • Ball End Hex Screwdriver bit- Best for working in tight spaces, as the ball end design allows the bit to be used at an angle, which helps give better access in awkward positions.

    • Stainless Steel Hex Screwdriver bit- Has a hexagonal-shaped head and is used with Hex screws.

    • PlusMinus Bits- Used when working with PlusMinus screws, often used with electrical work such as fusebox repair and maintenance.

Wood Vs. Metal

When purchasing your bits and bit sets, it is important to note what type of materials you will be working with. Though some people use wood drill bits while working with metal materials and vice versa, it’s not ideal. This can be dangerous for the builder and can cause a lot of damage to the screws, materials, and bits themselves. When purchasing drill bits, check and see if they are for woodworking or metal use.

Bit Coatings and Finishes

Our Wera Bits come in different finishes to help extend the lifetime of your tools. These include:

  • Diamond Coated- Insures a snug fit into the screw and actually bites into the metal of the screw to ensure no stripping takes place.

  • Stainless Steel- For best results, use when working with stainless steel screw

Stay Organized

There is nothing worse than when you are ready to start a project, you go into your garage, and you can’t find the tools that you are looking for. To help keep all of your Wera Bits in a safe, easy-to-find place, they created the Bit Check. This is a holder for your bits that makes sure each size is in its correct place. This can be set down near you while you work. If the Bit Check gets bumped, the bits will stay securely in place. Also, consider a tool bag to easily transport your Bit Check and other tools. This makes building on the go much easier and gives you confidence that everything you will need is in one bag. At Mr.Tools, we also carry screwdriver holsters. These are a must-have accessory for builders as you can wear your screwdrivers and have them close to you whenever you need them.
